About me

I am a Shiatsu and Thai therapist by training, a student of Pichest Boonthume, David Lut and Chris McAllister among other teachers. I have been teaching Thai Massage (traditional and medical) since 2005 andTouch Therapies since 2007.

Between 2007-2017 I was involved with The Yuri Shtern Holistic Care Center in Jerusalem, as a therapist and as managing director of the charity. I developed the Center’s training program for therapists who practice various disciplines, to create a baseline therapeutic form for treating people dealing with cancer. These are evidence based techniques practiced at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (NYC) and Sha’arei Zedek Medical Center (Jerusalem) combined with the insights of my teachers and the experience of treating hundreds of patients and their family members through the years.

What I learn from my oncology and trauma patients is relevant to all of us, and these insights become meshed in my practice as my understanding of working with trauma, past and present, evolves.

Testimonials

I incorporated Roni's techniques from Warm Hands On An Aching Body into my treatments and the results have been AMAZING. One client told me " after years of discomfort, it finally feels like my whole body is breathing again." These techniques are very gentle yet very powerful and the results are simply amazing! Thank you so much ❤️

I tell my friends that Roni Gilboa keeps me ticking. I’ve been getting weekly massages from Roni for years. I walk out the door after a session with her feeling looser, taller and more flexible. And just plain happier. I can’t recommend Roni highly enough

"Warm hands on aching body" : a very useful training for thai practitioners I attended last month in Chiang Mai, Thailand : how to help people suffering from cancer or life threatening pathologies ? They really need to be touched, maybe more than people with common ailments, so it's all about which tools according to which stage of cancer, which kind of cancer, which kind of psychological states. A lot of fascias work in order to use thai therapeutic points in a sweet but efficient way. A lot of work on parasympathetic nervous system and on psoas in order to help them to go from "fight and flight reflex" to digestive mood : dealing with side effects such as insomnia, anxiety, neuropathies. That is the way these patients can focus and be stronger to face chimio and radiotherapy. Massages will not cure them but heal them. Roni has great experience and is such a great and kind teacher. She has a very special way of saying "hum" when she is tasting a question you ask her. She's both so funny and so serious. Many talks about death that are really an invitation to enjoy life !
